What I love about the internet is that sometimes you get ideas that throw you just a bit off your standard way of thinking. Just by surfing around. Over at Geeks are Sexy (you just gotta love that title!), I found this video that I want to share with you. Everybody is talking about the imminent dangers that global warming brings. Prepare for an emotional joy-ride!
What struck me most was the co-founder of Greenpeace asking critical questions about the motivations of today’s movements. Indulge your brain with some thoughts that go against everything you have heard of lately.
Futurism
After still not having heard anything from Nektros for a month, I followed one of the co-worriers, the nonist, and found a very interesting blog about the Venus project, which is based in the US. Oscar™ winning documentary maker William Gazecki has made a film about it, and if you dig deeper into their website, you get some pictures that remind me of 1970s science fiction drawings. Well, of course they are now done in 3D, but still…
I actually met Patrick Moore in the 90s. I attended a meeting where he was discussing the BENEFITS of clear cutting. Which, of course, the environmentalists cry is so dangerous. It was quite a good meeting.
Michael Crichton wrote a great book that has an anti-global warming theme called, “State of Fear.” Great book, worth reading.
