As it turns out, many new viewing technologies are powered by porn. You still can buy 8mm adult movies on eBay. Apparently many of the first VCRs were bought so that these films could be enjoyed “in the comfort of one’s own home”. Later, streaming video was pushed by, yes, the p-thing.

But when it comes to the newest thing of the hottest, namely HD, porn just isn’t the driving engine. Hey, they haven’t even jumped onto the band waggon.
And the reason? HD simply shows too much detail! The viewer would become painfully aware of the low budgets these films are made with, the lack of make-up, set-dressing, lighting, camera-quality. Basically lack of everything that makes a film a film.
I guess that they appear on an iPod before they get onto a 42″ plasma…
You know what? The comments from the visitors to this post won’t be very intelligent :-p
- speaking as someone who is still the 6th site on Google when you search for “girls chat” and get a fair amount of hits from that and similar queries. It’s tempting to make the site say 404 to the googlebot for that page only..
…I did indeed get some, uhm, unusual search-terms on my blog after this post.
So I have learned my lesson about being a bit more careful with wording my headlines.
