See how a journalism class looks like in 2007.

I tried to leave a comment, but the server seems down. So here we go instead:

It is indeed weird. I do like Macs, but this is getting over the top.

a) What happened to the good old paper notepad for a journalist?

b) Where do they get all their money to buy the expensive Mac Book Pros from? If you do work on text, then a MacBook Standard should more than do the trick.

c) Must be a weird sound to hear hundreds of keyclicks every single second. Wonder how the lecturer feels…

A smart person once said that journalists are writers without patience.

To me the most important quality of a journalist is curiosity, a critic eye and a sharp mind. Now when I see a whole room of future journalist jotting down notes on a high-end laptop, I wonder how un-biased they are in their reporting. Or if reporting is watered down to “Google – Copy – Paste”.
